La causa posterior

Completed novel · Unpublished · Spanish-language original

An untitled grey book enters Bruno’s life. Pain, the reports that try to describe it, and his relationships with Laura and Clara open a story about the body, identity and what passes from one generation to the next.

Among books and documents, bodily experience comes up against the descriptions meant to fix it in place. Bruno cannot be fully contained by what is recorded about him; Clara must find her own relationship with that inheritance.

Its three-part course carries the transmission of family and documents forward to Alma. The novel asks what brings a life into being and what can be passed on when experience exceeds its record.

Editorial focus
