Jars, scales and notebooks make silence part of everyday life. Each attempt to measure and organise it raises questions about where rules come from and where freedom meets its limits.
The Estancia becomes more than the place where decisions are made: its organisation begins to exceed the intentions of those who sustain it. Between human agreement and what comes before it, the novel asks what can be founded, what can be changed and what persists when its members believe they have chosen.
