Philosophical essay
La forma que resiste
Conocimiento, identidad y transformación
Unpublished · Spanish-language original
Changing a conviction can feel like a threat to the person who holds it. An essay on knowledge, identity and the transformations that make continuity possible.
The models through which we understand the world can also prevent us from hearing it. A useful interpretation may harden until every new experience becomes confirmation of what we already know.
La forma que resiste examines the cost of revising interpretations bound up with identity. It proposes an interval in which automatic allegiance can be suspended, beliefs tested and their authority reconsidered. Change does not necessarily mean learning; staying the same does not necessarily preserve what matters.
